Sales Representative, Construction Equipment

This is a Contract position in Kitchener, ON posted September 1, 2017.

Our client is one of the largest equipment sales & rental businesses in the Ontario construction sector.  They service small to large contractors in the region and are a well known house brand.  Their products are known for their dependability, performance and safety.  They are looking for a Kitchener-Waterloo Sales Representative to foster relationships with large general contractors, smaller builders and commercial contractors. If you’re a driven, hungry early career Sales Representative that comes from any industry, but has the desire to get into the construction sector then apply within!

RESPONSIBILITIES/SERVICES
Cold calling to generate new leads and client accounts with general contractors, small builders and commercial contractors.
Maintaining relationships with existing clients and soliciting purchase/rental orders in the assigned territory.   
Networking at tradeshows, events and corporate functions.
Command control over proposals and presentations to senior level decision makers.
Estimating and responding to tenders in an appropriate fashion.
Adhere to sales goals and targets directed by management.
Manage data of pricing, sales and activity report.
Daily travel in car within the assigned territory.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Post secondary education in a relevant field of study.
Applicable sales and presentation course education is looked upon highly.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
2-5 years experience in B2B Sales, selling into any industry.  No experience in the construction/equipment sector needed!
Must have had a strong track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets in whatever industry you are in!
Ability to read blueprints and any existing knowledge of the commercial/industrial construction process will be a nice to have, but not necessary.
Must have experience in winning new accounts from a cold call to close.
Hunter/farmer mentality–the ability to leverage on relationships from an onsite cold call and nurture these to build extensive networks.
 
THE DOLLARS
$50-70K base plus 22% eligible bonus.  Total available compensation – $70-85K.  Truck provided plus gas card, cellphone , laptop, benefits.
