Sales Engineer


This is a Contract position in Edmonton region, AB posted October 1, 2017.

Position Description


Wajax is a leading Canadian industrial products and services provider engaged in the sale and service support of mobile equipment, power systems, and industrial components.

● Learn and understand Hitachi Consult estimating software
● Learn and understand Hitachi Hitech operating cost software
● Learn and understand Hitachi Shovel operating cost software
● Provide technical support to sales for production studies and op cost models
● Provide project management support to sales in RFP preparation
● Insure timely completion of RFP and Quotation documentation for review by Account Managers
● Assists Account Managers and Technical Support with FMA reconciliations and reporting
● Interfaces with Customer to supply technical information as required
● Visits customer sites, attends trade shows, works with marketing in trade show prep
● Maintains mining project pipeline and databases on mining machines
● Mining machine Sales coordination :
● Invoicing of whole goods sales
● Accurate reporting of rented, sold or returned units
● Understanding of OEM discount structure and how it is applied to deal
● Work with manufacturers to ensure discounts are accurate and reimbursed
● Work with Sales to ensure proper specs on orders for region or sale
● Ensure warranty registration is in compliance
● Extended warranty purchasing when required
● Responsible for arranging shipping of whole goods and units
● Assist sales in the service requests for accuracy

Position Requirements

● 3

– 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
● Mining or Mechanical Engineer designation preferred but not required if supplemented by formal equivalent training or relevant work experience
● Working knowledge of surface mining capital goods, maintenance planning, production studies
● Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and electric drive systems
● Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
