Molding Thermoforming Operator ESF Careers (Engineering Search Firm), Toronto, ON

Job Description

ESF has been engaged by a leader in the plastics industry to recruit a Molding Thermoforming Operator to join its team. The position reports to the Molding Shift Supervisor. Must be able nbsp;to work a Continental shift; 7:30 am to 7:30 pm or 7:30 pm to 7:30 am.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation, and maintenance of sheet extrusion, thermoforming lines and associated equipment and tooling;
  • Perform sheet extrusion machine setup, including setting up extruder parameters;
  • Shut-down machines for scheduled down time, make sure thermoforming machines are set up to meet productivity and efficiency goals. Start-up extruder and thermoforming machines;
  • Setup and or calibrate complex, servo-motorized parts handling units;
  • Daily cleaning, maintenance and nbsp;upkeep of extrusion equipment, thermoforming equipment, tooling, auxiliary equipment and instructions. Perform minor equipment and tooling repairs;
  • Maintain the master set-up sheets for each mold; assist the Engineer in developing appropriate set-points and tolerances. Document all critical process parameters;
  • Program thermoforming equipment, perform equipment adjustments and complex troubleshooting and support test runs for new business.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate from a plastic training institute;
  • 3 plus years’ experience in a plastic sheet extrusion and or thermoforming equipment and processing facility;
  • Strong technical and manufacturing background;
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience troubleshooting thermoforming machines;
  • Training and trouble-shooting experience with electromechanical, hydraulics, automation and pneumatics preferred.
